Passion, Patience and a Pink Bundle

I’m Jemima, I am on the wrong side of 30 and pregnant with my first baby.

My ballet story began in my late teens when my gymnastics coach said I lacked grace and needed a dose of elegance to mix with my strength. Back then It wasn’t my first choice sport but I was surprised just how much I enjoyed it.

Fast forward a couple of decades, a lockdown and a pregnancy and I needed to find something less strenuous then running that was guided so that I had feedback on my positions. I am hyper mobile and have a tendency to over do everything if not kept and eye on plus, I find I work harder when I am with a group.

Emily’s advert popped up on Instagram and so I sent her a message, she was just the loveliest most understanding person so I signed up right away.

I remembered my ballet positions from all those years ago but, that was about it! From my very first nervous session, I just adored it. Every week I look forward to Thursday evening when I can float around in my own bubble (occasionally followed by my Labrador) to classical music that I adore and relaxes me greatly.

I plan to keep dancing although very gently, during my maternity leave and one day introduce my little girl to the beauty of ballet.

Thank you Emily for your passion and patience, you have sparked a long forgotten love.
