The Titanosaur, Tip toes and Homework
“Miss Emily did you know that the most giant dinosaur ever to live was the titanosaur?” Said a little voice from the back of the room. . “Wow!” I said whilst getting up on my tip toes and creating a long neck with my arm “Shall we be a Titanosaur when doing our ballet walks today?” I asked. . “Well, Miss Emily you can try but the thing is, if a Titanosaur was really here it would be taller than you and probably even taller than this building”.
I have been teaching this little boy for a while now and he often sets me off to do some research. In the past he had asked me to watch a programme all about the ocean and by the time I’d gone back to teach his class the next week I’d forgotten! The disappointment on his face made me realise I must never forget again!
After our dinosaur walks this week he told me I need to look online and see if I can find a picture of a Titanosaur. The good news is I have remembered to do my homework so he will be pleased with me on Tuesday! It is so important that as a teacher I can inspire boys to dance and if that means me doing my homework on their interests then I’m all for it. The boys that I teach at the moment absolutely love ballet and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that never changes.
